Well, as you may have noticed I've been on and off of this lovely little blog for the last couple weeks. A few things have been going on in our lives and several of them have been sad. Basically it went like this: I got sick, went to the ER, recovered, visited Northern California with friends and family, came home to LA, our car got broken into, and work work work. Although, we have several things to be happy about, it was really hard saying good-bye to our friends and family, especially after the traumatic couple weeks we've had. I'll never forget as D and I drove down the "Grapevine" and looked down onto the Valley and further into LA, we both looked at each other and said simultaneously that we wanted to turn around and go back to the Bay. Despite the bumps that we’ve had in the road the last couple weeks, the good news is that I’m fully recovered and am about to start training for my first marathon. D is back at work and I’m up to ears in work as well. We have lots of things to be thankful for. Although I’m on the mend and things are pretty much back to normal, there are times when I get sad. Every day is a little better. Have faith that things will get better, because everything in the end will work out.
That’s all for now! I’ll be back with some more upbeat fare soon, I promise! Sometimes in life, you need to dip down low to help you feel the height of the highs. For now, I shall leave you with a song that I love right now:
Leah I'm so sorry that you got sick again but am really glad that you're feeling better now! I completely understand how you guys are feeling...it's so hard! Every city holds a part of your heart and when you eventually leave LA I bet you'll feel the same (hard to believe now though). At least I did, still miss that city! I love that you're going to start training for a full! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sweet note Dana! Sure wish you guys were down here still, but am happy that you guys are closer to home/friends/family up North :) Hope your running is still going well too!
